Hiding

So long story short, I had a little "procedure" done and therefore Eric's parents took our little rascals for TWO WEEKS!!! And as if watching BOTH kids for two weeks was not enough, they went off and potty trained Austin in one day!! I do not think I can ever repay them for all that they have done for us!!

Anywho, so no posts from me because I have been resting, but all is well now and the kids came home this afternoon, and we are back to "normal."

Ansley now only walks, no crawling for her!! So of course, that means she is in constant motion and Austin has really come into his own. Today he said, "Mommy, I can go poopy in the potty now, so that means I can go to school (preschool) and that should make you feel all better." I could not have said it better myself. But then he finished it off with "I am so proud of me, and you are a good mommy." Just brought tears to my eyes. I love my babies ;)

Promise pics this weekend - and you can hold me to it!!

Walking

So Ansley started walking last Tuesday, on her own, all by herself, etc....I will take a picture today and post it later. She is just cruisin' now!!

We saw the Pediatric Urologist last Thursday and she told us that Ansley needed to be on the prophylactic antibiotics and pretty clearly expressed her disappointment that we had not previously put her on them. I told her that I just did not want her on daily antibiotics, but she basically said to "get over it." So....now every morning Ansley takes her daily dose of Septra and she will continue to do so until either her body self-corrects the reflux or she has a surgery to correct the problem. The official diagnosis is: Primary Vesicoureteral Reflux and she only has it on her left kidney and it is a grade 3. So after 1 year, she is not any better or worse. Luckily she likes the antibiotic most days so it is okay, but those mornings when we have to struggle to get her to take it, we (Eric & I) just keep reminding ourselves that it will keep her healthy.

So, as long as she does not get any more UTIs, we don't have to have any more tests run for 1 year, but if she gets another UTI then we will have to re-examine the treatment plan and surgery.

Hope all is well on the home front where you are!! I hope to posts pics later.
