Sad news

My mom's mom, Grandmother H passed away on St. Patrick's Day, so Eric and I made a quick trip to Texas for the funeral. She was 101, so in many ways it was more of a celebration of her life. We got to catch up with family and friends while we were there. This is a picture of my aunt & uncle and most of my Grandmom's great-grand children.

This is a family group shot; it is a bit hard to get a group all together at once ;)

One of my favorite stories from growing up involves our mom taking my brother and I to my Grandmother's hometown when there was a big snow fall. My mom wanted my brother and I to see "real" snow, as at the time we lived in Austin and there was not any real snow there. So we went for a week and played in the snow with our grandparents. Well, the funeral was Saturday morning, and when we woke up Saturday, there were several inches of snow on the ground, so to me it was a perfect day to say goodbye to my grandmom. We will miss her dearly!

Checking in

This is often Ansley's favorite spot in the house; she loves sitting by Charlie when he eats. I wish I were joking when I said she doesn't eat much of his food, but more than once she has snuck in a bite.....I know we are awful parents!! Obviously we checked the label and there were not any poison control warnings, she only ate one little piece, and she acted fine afterwards, but now we have to watch her watch him eat ;)

Charlie is doing great, he is just a fabulous pup!

Austin and I decided to make home made play dough the other day and we had a ball playing with it. His smile to say hi to the folks in Texas and beyond!

His "masterpiece" of play dough:

Sometimes it is better to just not ask ;)

Rainow

I thought weird weather only happened in Texas! Today it is raining and snowing at the same time, now I realize Eric may call that sleet (maybe the rest of you too) but I call it rainow, one drop of rain for every drop of snow....and no I did not/cannot take a picture as it just looks like rain ;) So while my true calling may have been meteorology, I will stick with being a teacher for now.
