Sushi!

Oh what a boy we have!!

Long story short, Eric went to dinner last night for his brother's birthday and I stayed home with Austin due to time of the event, etc. So Eric being the good husband that he is, brought home dinner for me. My favorite sushi roll is the California Roll (for my father, that is cooked crab & avocado) and Eric brought me home an order. Well, Mr. Austin decided he thought they looked good so I gave him half of one and that's right ladies and gentlemen he ATE it! Now, he did not ask for more nor did he spit it out, so it was probably just an "okay" food item. But bottom line, the boy has taste!

So, if ever in the mood for sushi rolls, Austin recommends the California roll - sans wasabi and soy sauce. He is still a little too young for all that!

As for girl names, we have not really gotten that far yet - biggest priority right now is to find us a house!!! As Eric said the other day, well I guess there goes our hope for having the kids share a room at some point in their lives! Hahahahaha!

Have a great weekend!

It's a Baby

Apparently when Austin found out his momma was having another baby he thought he should gain some sympathy weight too! I mean come on, this is bigger than his momma's belly!!

Look at that girth!!

We have had fun playing with our new toys - can't tell in this picture - obviously his mother is not a paparazzi

Yesterday he found one of his daddy's hats and decided that he should wear it around the house until he got into his car - I missed getting a shot of him wearing it around the house, and got it just as he was taking it off to go driving....

Here he is on the way home from Grandma & Grandpa B's house. He is screaming in sheer delight about all of the cool new toys he received from ALL of his family members who are trying to spoil him!!

Well, that is all for now - oh wait - almost forgot Austin said his first 2 word phrase today. On the way to the doctors office he was getting bites from his dad's hash brown and he wanted more and kept signing and saying he wanted more, and then he said "more momma, more." This is great!! Now in a few years I will be saying how do you get the kid to stop talking?!?

Have a great week!!

PS. It's a girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Merry Christmas from Texas!!

Yeah!! We had an AWESOME time in Texas and really enjoyed getting to spend lots of quality time with Granddad T & Lynn as well as our Cousin Carter, Uncle Scott & Aunt Natalie. We had TOO much fun!

Carter is getting to be SO big - he will be 3 soon and is the spitting image of his father - he showed Austin lots of new toys and loved playing with his 4-wheeler. Thanks for sharing with us Cousin Carter!

Who knows who is chasing who in this picture

Austin using Uncle Scott as a step stool

Austin learning how to ride a 4 wheeler from Cousin Carter - we were stuck inside on Saturday and of course this is the only day I remembered to take pictures!!!

Austin's Granddad T got him a box - note the label on the box! Thanks Granddad T - I think...

(in case you cannot read it, it's Jack Daniels)

Austin is checking out the gifts under the tree - note that he was in bed when we finally got around to the actual gift exchange - but that meant he got to enjoy his gifts on the plane ride home to Georgia.

My favorite picture - looks like trouble!!

My grandmother asked me to take a Christmas wreath out to my mom's grave, and Austin saw that the sea shells my dad had put out had fallen down to the ground, so Austin had lots of fun putting the shells back on top and that meant the world to my dad and I.
We cannot wait to back to Texas, but it will be a while; maybe once baby #2 arrives.
We will spend Christmas day with Eric's parents & brothers et al. Then we find out what baby #2 will be on Thursday - I will keep you posted!
Have a Merry Christmas y'all!!

The Caped Cruisader

Obviously looking for new ways to entertain himself, and his mother always willing to oblige the imagination, our trusty blanket became a cape today!

Hey, let go my Charmin - Cottonelle, what's the difference!?!

Running around saving toys from boredom

Finding ways to hid under the cape
And then, the real fun began!! You see, I knew my dad's Christmas present to Austin had not arrived yet, and it should have, so after doing some calling & checking, my Dad, in Texas found the package in our apartment complex office - I was excited.
When my brother and I were kids, we would sneak under the Christmas tree and unwrap our gifts to see what we were getting, and I have started that tradition with Austin. But I knew what he was getting, so I went ahead and told him what was in the boxes, but we had to wait until Daddy got off of work tonight before we could open them.
This is Austin BEGGING me to open the box - or at least that is what I think he was doing.
This is Austin non-verbally telling me he was bored with the box and we needed to open it so that we could color on it, and then Daddy called to say he was going to be late, so .... the snooping was ON!! Momma opened the box!! Only to find....

the world's coolest cement mixer!!!

LOOK at that face! Sheer delight!

checking out all of the machinery

Look at my engine Granddad T

Making sure the engine had enough oil & a new filter

now, lets go!!

just cannot stand the coolness of his truck
Needless to say, the boy was/is excited. And the best part is that this is just 1/2 of the gift, as I left the other toy in the box to be opened on Christmas Day, so we only 1/2 snooped.
Thanks Granddad T!!

Busy December

Turns out the end of the semester is way too busy for my taste!!

It appears our son might have developed a red-headed temper!! Wanna see??

Here he is demonstrating his sad face
followed by his crying & getting really upset face

and ending with his 'I'm sorry' face
You see we went through a biting phase which we think maybe over - i.e. we hope is over or we are going to get kicked out of school!! But now, when he does something wrong or gets into trouble he is starting to come over and give you a kiss and hug - clearly an abuse of his cuteness!!
Blogger is giving me trouble today loading pictures, but here you can see his new favorite past time - playing in his cardboard box and with his bowl - he loves to build the box up and then hide in it and knock it over and color on it and walk on it and get momma to sit in it and get daddy to color on it, you get the point!

We are also really trying to work on learning more words - this week we mastered hat, hot, and the ever important MINE - oh the words he brings home from school!! hahaha
We can't wait to come to Texas for Christmas!!
